A netizen who claimed to be an American seller claimed that he had received a notice from Amazon that all charging treasures that did not provide UL2056 certification before May 25th would be banned.
Regarding the security of Amazon's mobile power supply, just in March this year, Amazon recalled its own mobile charging treasure of basicms brand, totaling 260,000 sets.
The main reason is that in the United States, Amazon has received more than 50 reports of overheating of charging treasure, and believes that the product has potential safety hazards. This is also the fuse of this charging treasure ban.
About UL2056
UL2056 is the world's first standard for mobile power supply, which aims to protect consumers from personal and property damage caused by dangerous accidents such as fire and explosion of mobile power supply, and at the same time help manufacturers reduce the risk of expensive product recycling and brand damage.
The certification fee of UL2056 varies with products. The charging head network learned through consulting the insiders that the certification fee for a single mobile power supply is about 100,000 RMB, and the maintenance fee will be 20,000 ~ 30,000 RMB per year in the later period.
Certification projects and processes are also complicated, so in general, the certification period is about one year.
In addition, through the inquiry, it is known that Amazon has a series of shelf requirements for car chargers and chargers. Car chargers require UL2089, and chargers require UL60950 or 62368-1 products to obtain the corresponding UL certification qualification before they can be put on the shelves.
